l a m
A small tumble-down chapel in a former military base in Arnhem is nowadays used as an exhibition space. The Arnhem based art initiative Code Rood organizes monthly one day shows on the site.
In the previous week I provided the ceiling with a vault, knitted with PVC tubes and corrugated board. The floor is covered with a thick layer of black earth.
During the exhibition I was lying on my belly, my arms beside my body and my face buried in the earth.
The title "l a m" refers to the Dutch word meaning "lamb", "lame" and/or "piss drunk". Due to the spacing and the sans serif font, it is also to be interpreted as "I am".
